WHAT IS INTUITION?
It is a direct knowledge or awareness, with or without conscious attention or reasoning. It is a knowing feeling in the pit of your stomach, a gut feeling, an instinct. I call it drawing on “accumulated knowledge from the past, present or future.”
We are all born with this wonder tool. Successful people trust their intuition and use it in both their personal and professional lives.
Understanding and trusting your intuition can help you analyze situations and make decisions. For instance, it can help you know when to call someone’s bluff, know when someone is telling the truth or know if a sale can be made.
Here are some exercises that will help you develop your intuition and use it more effectively.
-When making a decision, first list all of the logical (left brain) solutions and the reasoning behind them. Writing things down helps to solidify the rationale. The why! As you write them down, visualize each solution (right brain) and be aware of your stomach or solar plexus. When you consider each one, how & where does it register ? FIRST CHECK YOUR BODY FEELINGS. Note if there is any anxiety, fear or other feelings.
-When you meet someone, have you noticed that you feel comfortable with some people immediately? You are sensitive to them because they are on the same wave length. (PAST LIFETIMES PERHAPS?) You can put more people on your wave length by matching their body energy and pacing your movements to theirs.
-To project what a person might do or how a situation could change, use brainstorming or mindmapping. Allow 15 minutes and without stopping, write down all of your ideas (no matter how insignificant).
-Act as if you are radar sensitive and can tune in on people (with their permission) and situations. Practice feeling in synch with another person, as if you are 100% aware of their thoughts. Match their energy. Be aware of the reaction in your solar plexus, then identify those feelings about the person: trustworthy, loving, judgmental, sneaky, tidy, organized, etc. Confirm this by trusting that your opinion is valid.
-Practice reading people’s behavior patterns-shifting eyes, set jaws, higher pitch in the voice or nervous cough.
-Act as if you are a magnet. Draw positive and supportive people to you. Draw financial support. Draw all the success you desire.
